Recycling & Compost

17th Street Plaza is a strong supporter of the environment and supports all efforts to promote an eco-friendly, sustainable office space.

As such we employ single-stream recycling and composting. This means that all recyclable items (paper, cans, plastic bottles, etc.) can be placed in the same bin, separate from compostable items. The night-time janitorial crew will then dispose of the recycling.

Items that can be put in the container are:

  • White & Colored Paper
  • Brochures & Pamphlets
  • All envelopes, including junk-mail
  • Books (hard or soft cover)
  • Coated Paper (shiny)
  • Adding Machine Tape
  • File Folders (even the hanging style with metal)
  • Post-It Notes
  • Legal & Steno Pads
  • Cardboard boxes (must be broken down)
  • Glass bottle & jars only
  • Plastic bottles only, no tubs
  • Magazines, newspapers (and inserts)
  • Photocopy & Typing Paper
  • Office Correspondence
  • Paper Clips
  • Plastic Tabs
  • Manuals with Glue Bindings
  • Carbonless Receipts
  • Staples & Clamps
  • Wire & Plastic Spirals
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Soup cans & small metal pieces

If Tenants have questions regarding the recycling of a particular item, please contact the Management Office.

You may place compostable bags made from plant-based materials in your compost container. Most of these bags are a shade of green to distinguish them from other plastic bags.

The Management Office appreciates encourages and appreciates occupant participation in our sustainability efforts.
